The Butterfly House,  Boulder, CO

Recently completed residence in the Chautauqua Park Neighborhood in Boulder, CO.  The North (Butterfly roof) section  and South section of this home are new and designed to complement the existing central structure of the house, and the Flatirons in the background.

 

The construction of this home incorporates state-of-the-art framing techniques and advanced materials.  The roof structure of the butterfly roof includes engineered lumber, steel, and SIP (Structural Insulated Panels).

Park Place, 2816 9th Street, Boulder, CO

Recently completed residence on North Boulder Park.  This home includes advanced features such as high thermal mass design; acoustic barrier design; super-insulation;  eco-friendly products such as bamboo flooring and bamboo cabinetry;  green-built throughout; "smart" boiler system; etc.

602 Maxwell,   Boulder, CO  

Description of work:  Restoration and preservation of historic building exterior in the Historic Mapleton District in Boulder Colorado and remodel of interior spaces in a modern style with strong underlying reminders of the 100 year old roots below.

Weekend Mountain Home, Rollinsville, CO  

1980  Sq Ft Home: New Custom Home on 12 acres with direct lake view, Florida Cypress Exterior, Colorado Aspen T&G Interior, Custom steel kitchen cabinets, Stone Masonry Fireplace.  Foam-forms used for concrete foundation, using day-lighted under-footing french-drain to mitigate underground spring under house.     850 Sq Ft Cypress and Log deck with hot-tub.  Galvanized steel roofing.  Sliding wall partition at master bedroom, concrete and maple wood counters in kitchen.

Mountain Home, Lake Granby, CO   

2800 Sq Ft Home: Western Cedar Shingle and Florida Cypress T&G Exterior, Interior and Exterior post and beam using 12"x12" timbers and large-scale logs for structure.   Many beams are hand carved.  Hybrid Stress-skin panel construction.    Super-Insulated.  310 Degree Views of Rocky Mountain National Park, Never Summer Range, Lake Granby, Indian Peaks.  Four different decks using logs for framing and Trex Lumber for decking.  View from the House in Summer

6th Street Home,   Boulder, CO 

Partial Residential Remodel: 1400 Sq Ft  Remodel and Interior Design in the International Style, with Daylight atrium at garden level, Hand-Finished Plaster Interior walls, Slate flooring.  Triangular glass atrium at Northern Exposure.

5000 Sq Ft Home: New Construction using steel and wood post and beam construction,  Floors are T&G Douglas Fir, Windows: Aluminum Mill Finish,   In-Floor Radiant Heat.  Featured in Dec 2000 "Food and Wine Magazine" Recipient of AIA Honors Award
